Hughes Armstrong Industries is pleased to announce the acquisition of Leyland Rubber Components
Ltd. The business will be merged with Dexine Rubber Technologies Ltd to form a new company
Dexine Leyland Rubber Technology Ltd (DLRT).

Both Dexine Rubber Technologies and Leyland Rubber Components have expertise in the
manufacture and supply of industrial rubber polymers. Dexine has a long history dating back to 1895
and including being a key supplier to the War Office, whilst Leyland Rubber Components was born of
a consolidation of a number of north west-based rubber manufacturing businesses.

Both businesses bring unique and complimentary skills and competencies to the new DLRT, which
will result in a stronger business with an enhanced product range.

Leyland Rubber Components Ltd will bring specific expertise in the fabrication of fire resistant and
low smoke, low toxic polymer products to complement Dexine’s wide range of bespoke compounds
and products.

The Dexine range of shock absorbing and anti-vibration components will also be extended and
enhanced by Leyland Rubber Component Ltd’s existing product range, which is designed to serve the
electronics industry.

Stephen Lord, Chief Executive of Hughes Armstrong Industries Ltd commented, “We are delighted
with the acquisition, which provides the critical mass to develop and grow our existing Dexine
business as well as adding new products to the Leyland Rubber Components operation. The new
business will retain the original investors in Leyland Rubber Components Ltd – John Burdett and
Chris Turner. We are discussing investment plans and there will be a further announcement in the
coming weeks.”

This acquisition and merger will support the future growth and development of both businesses
under the new DLRT umbrella.
